Niagra boatThe International QSAR Foundation is a collaboration of QSAR specialists focused on the the major technical gaps in QSAR methods for identifying hazardous chemicals without additional animal testing.

We develop new QSAR technologies for use in the QSAR Toolbox provided by OECD.  QSAR models predict chemical behavior directly from chemical structure so that adverse effects in cells, tissues and organisms can be simulated without additional testing.

The major gap in QSAR methodolgy is now the modeling long-term adverse effects which is being resolved using biological response models known as adverse outcome pathways (AOPs).
